The study, published in the Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry, found that resveratrol mimics the benefits of estrogen. In other words, it fakes out the body into thinking it has the estrogen levels of your youth.1
Plus, the study showed it helps keep cells healthy. And when cells function properly, there’s less chance that cancer will form.
The study’s authors concluded, “Resveratrol might be the most promising candidate for HRT and chemoprevention of breast cancer due to its estrogenic activity and high antitumor activity.”
You can get resveratrol from certain foods – red wine, red grapes, cranberries, blueberries, and peanuts. But you’d have to eat a lot of these foods to get the equivalent of 100 mg. So a supplement is your best bet.
I recommend all my patients – men and women – take 100 mg of resveratrol daily. It’s an antioxidant, anti-aging powerhouse.
